At Wildflower, we are dedicated to providing a home based nurturing environment for children to grow, learn, and explore. Our philosophy is centered around the belief that every small interaction and experience can have a profound impact on a child's development. We offer a range of programs including home child care, nature school, and an exciting summer program to engage and inspire children.
Wildflower is a place where children can thrive in a natural setting, surrounded by caring and experienced educators. Our team is committed to creating a warm and inviting space where children can feel safe, curious, and supported. We encourage children to connect with nature, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships in a fun and inclusive environment. Located in beautiful Nanoose Bay, overlooking the bay we are 10 minutes from North Nanaimo and 15 minutes from downtown Parksville.

Outdoor Play
We are dedicated to creating a space where children can connect with nature, learn about sustainability, and develop a deep respect for themselves and the world around them. Our approach integrates play-based learning with nature-inspired activities to cultivate a sense of wonder and curiosity. Wildflower offers an active play based approach to learning with the understanding that early years are a development rich time in a child's life. We aim to inspire engagement, learning initiative, independence, problem solving as well as social and emotional well being through both structured and unstructured play.
Outdoor play is a cornerstone of Wildflowers philosophy allowing for exploration, wonder and curiosity in natural settings. Through play, both indoor and outdoor we give children opportunities to experience new things, and practice existing skills, strengthening brain connectivity for life skills, emotional regulation, executive functioning and grow a love of learning.
Studies have shown that children who attend a home based care environment have higher social and emotional development as well as a greater overall sense of well-being (Goeneveldetal (2010, Irukand Forry (2018)).
